Does your program offer positions outside of the Match?

No. Positions are only offered through the National Resident Matching Program.

Does one of my letters of recommendation have to be from the Chairman of Medicine?

No. Recommendations letters may be submitted by faculty members of your school who are well acquainted with you and your medical education experience. If you are an international medical graduate, it is preferred that at least one letter of recommendation be from a faculty member of an American teaching facility.

Does your program have a limit on the graduate year of applications?

It is strongly preferred applicants have graduated from medical school within the past 5 years.

I didn’t hear anything from your program, can I call or email to check on my application status?

All applications are reviewed through ERAS, and applicants are invited through ERAS. Applicants are discouraged from calling the program coordinators. Individual status updates will not be given via email or telephone.

What type of Visa do you sponsor?

St. Mary Medical Center sponsors J-1 Visas. We currently do not sponsor H1B visas.

Are residents allowed to complete outside electives?

Under the discretion of the program director, generally residents are allowed to complete 1 outside electives during their PGY 2 or PGY 3 year.
