Spiritual Care
Although Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is a Catholic health system, bound by the religious and ethical direction of the Catholic Church and guided by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Ethics and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services, we serve and embrace all patients no matter what their creed or beliefs. We are sensitive to the cultural diversity of our community and treat everyone who comes to us with reverence and compassion.
How Can We Help?
The hospital experience can be overwhelming and often results in feelings of anxiety, fear, depression, frustration, powerlessness, and anger. Some who are ill feel despair, guilt, disbelief, loss of control and loneliness.
We are committed to providing the highest level of healthcare—while also placing a high value on your spiritual and emotional well-being. We believe that these play a significant role in healing and in continued good health. And our healing ministry extends to family members and caregivers because we know that the experience of being in a hospital does not stop with the patient.
Our Spiritual Care Departments offer an array of services and programs that are supportive to the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and their families, employees, medical staff and volunteers. Our chaplains are prepared to help anyone who needs them-whether it is a woman giving birth to a child or someone with a terminal illness. We conduct pre-surgical visits, crisis calls, sacramental ministry, routine visits, and respond to codes and traumas.
