Parish Nursing Program

Parish nursing is a specialized ministry focusing on promoting the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of an individual through the integration of faith and health. Parish nurses are a valuable component of the church community, often serving as advocates for medical resources individuals may need to lead healthy lives.

Mercy Fitzgerald provides support for local parish nursing programs as part of our commitment to enhance the health of our community. We partner with area parishes of different religious denominations, including Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Darby, to offer information and referrals that help community members receive quality health care services while also focusing on their spiritual needs. Many of our dedicated health care professionals and employees provide assistance with health screenings, health education and support groups organized by the parish nursing programs.
