Spiritual Care at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital

Chaplains and volunteers in Mercy Fitzgerald’s Spiritual Care Department visit patients each day to offer prayer, support or sacraments, as needed or requested. All are trained as interfaith ministers. Chaplains are available upon request during working hours and through nursing supervisors after hours for crises only.

Chapel Services

The fifth floor chapel is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. A smaller chapel on the second floor is open 24 hours a day for prayer and reflection. Patients may view chapel services on TV Channel 39.

  • Reconciliation (Confession): Daily at 11:30 a.m. in the 5th floor chapel.
  • Holy Communion: Distributed daily to patients and by request.
  • Memorial Services: Offered quarterly for those who have died at Mercy Fitzgerald. Families of the deceased will be notified of date and time.
