Internal Medicine Curriculum
St. Mary Medical Center is a community teaching hospital providing care almost as a tertiary level care center would. The Internal Medicine Residency program at St. Mary Medical Center strives to provide comprehensive learning while also guiding residents to individual learning paths.
Curriculum
Program leadership and faculty work closely with residents to succeed not only during residency but many years down the road regardless of the career chosen post residency.
St. Mary Medical Center provides residents a wide-range of experience with its advanced structural heart program, a Level II trauma center, a renowned orthopedic program, a comprehensive neuro/stroke team, plus 24/7 hospitalist/intensivist coverage. A simulation lab, Schwartz rounds and participation in hospital-wide committees will also enhance resident experience.
During residency training, residents will be dedicating time on medicine floors, ICU, ambulatory clinic and subspecialty electives of all internal medicine specialties. Residents will be proficient in procedures and will be confident in tackling all issues post training.
