MCMC Resident Wellness
Residency may be one of the most challenging endeavors you ever take on. At MCMC, we have taken great strides to reduce resident burnout and allow for work/life balance. One of the ways we’ve done this is in regards to scheduling. Residents are only on “core” rotations for 4 weeks at a time, and then are on ambulatory services for 2 weeks. Individual schedules are designed to be manageable, with no shift longer than 12 hours long. We strictly adhere to ACGME’s policies regarding clinical hours. We individually screen for resident burnout semi-annually and the leadership team is always available for support.
We further encourage residents to visit these resources below.
