Support and Resources

Unity circles

Stroke can dramatically alter a person’s life. At Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, stroke survivors and their families can meet others who are experiencing the same challenging journey.

Our community stroke education classes are places where stroke survivors can heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. In addition to giving support, the groups are designed to foster camaraderie and informal discussions, as well as to provide informational presentations on a variety of healthcare topics.

Every year, more than 795,000 people in the U.S. have a stroke. About 610,000 of these are first or new strokes.

About 87% of all strokes are ischemic strokes, in which blood flow to the brain is blocked.
