Pelvic Floor Therapy
Physical therapy plays an important role in the treatment of pelvic floor issues to help patients who are dealing with this intimate and private matter.
Physical therapy uses exercise of the pelvic floor and its accessory muscles, biofeedback, pelvic floor contraction (Kegel) up training/down training/coordination training, E-stim, manual therapeutic techniques, behavioral modification and extensive patient education to treat people with these conditions.
Examples of pelvic floor issues include, but are not limited to:
- Urinary incontinence
- Pelvic pain
- Stress incontinence
- Post-partum problems
- Interstitial cystitis
- Vulvodynia
- Painful bladder syndrome
- Prolapse of pelvic organs
A physician referral is required to schedule with one of our pelvic floor physical therapists.
Referrals can be obtained from a urogynecology or ob/gyn provider. If you need an ob/gyn or primary care provider, schedule an appointment online today.
