Occupational Therapy

Unity Circles

occupational therapyOccupational therapists (OTR/L) and certified occupational therapist assistants (COTAs) specialize in maximizing the daily function of individuals whose life has been affected by injury, illness or disease process.

At Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic our occupational therapists assess areas of cognition, the upper extremity (for strength, range of motion, coordination and sensation), transfers, sitting balance, safety, homemaking skills, bathroom and self-care equipment needs, and activities of daily living (ADLs) and design personalized care plans to increase your ability to be more independent in daily life.

In some cases, certified brain injury specialists are available to incorporate assistive devices to help patients improve upper extremity (arm and hand) mobility, strength and function as they recover from a stroke, traumatic injury or neurologic disorder.
