Specialty surgical services

Hybrid OR equipped with biplane imaging technology

teen with head painOur neurosurgeons perform lifesaving minimally invasive endovascular procedures in a hybrid operating room. The hybrid OR is an advanced surgical suite equipped with specialized “biplane” imaging technology that enables our team to treat high-risk patients who need immediate surgical intervention. The biplane imaging system delivers detailed, high-quality, 3D X-ray images during the surgical procedure.

Together, the hybrid OR and biplane technology allow our surgeons to treat conditions such as stroke, aneurysm, brain tumors and arteriovenous malformation (AVM).

Neuro ICU

A Neurologic Intensive Care Unit is a dedicated critical care space for patients with life-threatening neurological conditions or who are recovering post-operatively from a neurosurgical procedure. The St. Mary Neuroscience Institute’s Neuro ICU is staffed 24/7 with a critical care team specially trained in the treatment of patients with severe brain injuries or conditions.

Our neurosurgeons perform lifesaving procedures to treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH)
  • Parkinson’s Disease and movement disorders
