Anatomic pathology
Anatomic pathology is the study of disease and its effect on the body, both to the patient as a whole and on the microscopic level—observing how disease interacts with cells and organs. Our anatomic pathology team provides services in gynecological, breast, prostate, skin, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and hepatic pathology. The lab’s clinical team consists of experienced pathologists and American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified histotechnicians and cytotechnologists.
Fast turnaround
Waiting for lab tests results can be stressful, which is why we have streamlined our clinical processes for fast turnaround time. The majority of our lab tests have results within 24 to 48 hours. Every test undergoes thorough peer review to ensure accuracy and quality. You can access your results easily through the Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN). We immediately send final results to the doctor that recommended your lab test so that they can discuss their meaning with you as soon as possible. Our pathology team is also willing to discuss results at any time.
Scheduling
No appointment is necessary for routine blood testing, newborn screening, urinalysis and routine urine cultures. All other tests, including three-hour glucola, needs to be scheduled. The final time for appointments are 4:45 p.m. on weekdays. We require a written order from a health care provider specifying the tests required and the associated diagnoses. Be sure to bring your insurance card as well as some form of ID.
