CT Scan

radiologists in lab

Computed Tomography (CT or CAT Scan) is a detailed X-ray that provides information about internal tissues and organs in cross-sections (thin slices). A computer takes the cross-section X-rays and uses them to create three-dimensional images. The X-rays used in CT scanning are much narrower than the X-rays used in standard X-rays, avoiding much of the scatter inherent in routine X-rays.

CT Scans use computer processing of a series of X-rays to construct 3D images of internal organs and structures. Our leading edge, helical 256-slice CT scanner performs specialized studies to diagnose heart disease, identify stroke, and assess traumatic injury. The advanced technology of all of our scanners enables us to complete fast, accurate scans with excellent detail for diagnostic CT imaging

64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner is an important tool in early detection. This powerful equipment provides radiologists with precisely detailed views of organs and tissue inside the human body, with greater speed and accuracy than ever before

EBUS is a minimally-invasive option to check for the presence of cancerous tissue in the lungs and structures within the chest cavity. EBUS is used to diagnose and stage lung cancer, and to determine if the disease has spread to other parts of the body, such as the lymph nodes. Conditions such as lymphoma, sarcoidosis, and infections also can be diagnosed using EBUS

Low-Dose Computed Tomography (LDCT) is a screening test that detects unusual changes in the lungs before a high-risk individual shows any signs of having lung cancer. The test scans for lung nodules, but does not determine if the nodule is benign (not cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). The radiologist (the doctor reading the CT scan) will make a recommendation and your primary doctor or nurse practitioner will determine, what, if any, follow up care is needed.
