Digital mammography
We offer our patients access to 3D mammography—one of the newest, most innovative technologies in women’s healthcare. In 3D mammography, also known as digital breast tomosynthesis, images of the whole breast are taken in slices (similar to a CT scanner) from multiple angles, which gives a more complete view.
The key role of mammography is to identify breast cancer early in its development—when it is very small and long before it can't be felt to the touch. Mammography detects about 2-3 times as many early breast cancers as a physical examination.
Stereotactic biopsy
Stereotactic biopsy uses a computer to enable healthcare providers to locate and obtain a sample of a questionable area on a mammogram. Because this procedure can be done in radiology on an outpatient basis, it is rapidly replacing surgical biopsy. Women who undergo stereotactic biopsy can take comfort in knowing that the procedure is safe, simple and only mildly uncomfortable.
Breast care coordinator
Our Breast Care Coordinator is committed to ensuring you and your family have the information and support you need to make informed decision about your diagnosis and planned treatment.
Breast cancer accreditation
We are a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designation and accredited in digital mammography, breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy and breast MRI. This designation is awarded to breast imaging centers that achieve excellence by seeking and earning accreditation in all of the American College of Radiology’s voluntary breast-imaging accreditation programs.
