Proclamation recognizes Mercy Fitzgerald for its service and commitment to Delaware County residents in their time of need.

MFH teamDarby, Pa. — (March 8, 2022) — Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital is pleased to announce that it has been presented with a resolution by the Council of Delaware County for extraordinary efforts to support the health and safety of Delaware County community members throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The resolution was presented on February 24, 2022, to Chris Cullom, president of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, by Melissa Lyon, director of the newly established Delaware County Health Department, and Rosemarie Halt, interim administrator of the Delaware County Division of Population Health and chair of the Delaware County Board of Health.

“Our community is at the heart of all that we do at Mercy Fitzgerald, making this recognition particularly meaningful,” said Cullom. “These past two years have been among the most difficult Delaware County has ever faced. To know that we were able to serve as a force for good during this difficult time is something that fills me and every one of my Mercy Fitzgerald colleagues with immense pride.”

The proclamation recognizes Mercy Fitzgerald’s strong partnership with Delaware County as well as the hospital’s extensive COVID-19 mitigation efforts, including the cost-free administration of COVID-19 tests and vaccines. These actions provided critical and life-saving support to Delaware County as it navigated the pandemic prior to the establishment of the County Health Department.
