Golfer's Elbow
Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis) is a condition that causes pain where the tendons of the forearm attach to the inside of the elbow. It results from cumulative damage or irritation of the tendons. Repetitive activities that require you to bend your wrist towards your palm can cause this type of injury.
The most common symptom of golfer’s elbow is pain along the palm side of the forearm from the elbow to the wrist. Fortunately, golfer’s elbow is rarely surgical and does not cause any long-term disability. In most cases, this condition is treated with proper rest and rehabilitation. Treatment usually includes stopping the activity that produces pain, strengthening exercises and applying ice to the area. Rarely, if the pain continues and these don’t help, your doctor may suggest surgical intervention.
