St. Mary Family Medicine Bensalem is a full-service family medicine practice, which was formed by the consolidation of Mother Bachmann Maternity Center, St. Mary Children's Health Center and St. Mary Adult Health Center.

In May 2022, St. Mary Family Medicine Bensalem moved to its new location on Street Road. The practice continues to provide services for adults, children and pregnant women in the Bensalem area.


Mother Bachmann Maternity Center

newborn babyThe Mother Bachmann Maternity Center is now part of St. Mary Family Medicine Bensalem. Here, women have access to the health care they need regardless of their ability to pay. It is the only maternity clinic of its kind in Bucks County. Certified nurse midwives provide obstetrical care to women who are uninsured and under-insured.

Services include:

  • Prenatal and delivery care by staff members sensitive to multicultural differences
  • Childbirth classes
  • Breast feeding guidance
  • Confidential psychological counseling before delivery
  • Nutrition education
  • Financial counseling
  • Support services

All deliveries of newborn babies take place at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.


St. Mary Children’s Health Center

St. Mary Children’s Health Center is also now part of St. Mary Family Medicine Bensalem. We provide primary healthcare services for children newborn to age 18, including well visits, sick visits, and follow-up care.

Services families receivewhether insured or uninsured—are:

  • Preventive and primary health care for children from birth to 18 years of age
  • Vaccinations
  • Hearing and vision screenings
  • Hospitalization and routine laboratory tests
  • Referrals to WIC (Women, Infants and Children) through the Department of Health
The Children’s Health Center provides on-call Emergency Service 24 hours, 365 days.

The St. Mary Children’s Health Center nurses screen new mothers for postpartum depression from the time their babies are born until their 12-month well-baby visits.

Well-baby visits include physical and developmental exams, screenings and immunizations.

Health maintenance visits typically consist of a comprehensive physical and developmental exam, including vision and hearing screenings, and routine laboratory testing.
