Ophthalmology Residency

Nazareth Hospital’s 205 acute and 28 skilled beds accommodate over 8,000 admissions yearly. The Emergency Department serves over 51,000 patients each year. Acute rehabilitation, transitional care, and hospice services are also located on the premises. A 29,000 square-foot ambulatory care center is located adjacent to the hospital and is connected by a short breezeway. Nazareth serves a diverse population of all ages with varied economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. This guarantees trainees exposure to a wide range of health issues.

Our Ophthalmology program provides a comprehensive experience in all the aspects of clinical and surgical ophthalmology. With multiple clinics at different sites, including Bensalem and Philadelphia Pa., as well as Hamilton N.J., we have a broad patient population with a wide variety of pathologies. We provide consulting services for numerous regional hospitals and emergency rooms as well.

We recently gained ACGME accreditation, and currently recruit two residents each year. Being a new program, we are looking for residents who are excited to help us shape and develop the program while getting excellent training. Our goal is to train confident and competent ophthalmologists.
