Jay Jaiswal, MD

Jay JaiswalI was born in Philadelphia and spent part of my formative years in both the U.S. and Hyderabad, India.

I earned my medical degree from SRM Chennai and completed an enriching Internal Medicine residency at Nazareth Hospital. I have the honor of continuing my medical education at Nazareth Hospital’s prestigious Cardiology Fellowship. This opportunity allows me to not only contribute to the healthcare of the underrepresented community at Nazareth but also to continue indulging in the diverse culinary delights of Philadelphia and stay close to family.

Looking ahead after fellowship, I hope to pursue sub fellowships in Electrophysiology and Imaging with a career focused on clinical practice.

Beyond the realm of medicine, I find joy and balance in practicing karate, playing the piano, attending live concerts, indulging in the art of baking, and satisfying my wanderlust through travel.

Krunalkumar Patel, MD

Krunal PatelI was born and raised in Gujarat, India and completed my medical degree from Smolensk State Medical University, Russia. I worked on Cardiovascular research at North Shore University Hospital, N.Y., followed by Internal Medicine residency at St. Mary Medical Center, Pa. It’s an honor to be a part of the Nazareth Hospital Cardiology fellowship program as a group of first Cardiology fellows. It’s only been a few short months since I started my fellowship here, but I would say the biggest strength is its faculty who are very eager to teach, friendly and always approachable, which made my initial months immensely smooth. Getting matched into Nazareth Hospital Cardiology program provided me an opportunity to stay in the same city that I have always loved and allowed me to stay connected with my family and friends around.

My research interests include clinical research in early cardiovascular risk assessment and stratification, outcomes research using large datasets, assessing the role of healthcare disparities in cardiovascular disease.

Following cardiology fellowship, I plan to pursue a career in academic cardiology, further my research interests and utilize my training to assist with preventive efforts.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing volleyball and cricket, spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, and exploring the area and diverse cuisine.
