linear acceleratorNazareth Cancer Center provides radiation therapy using the Varian linear accelerator—an advanced linear accelerator that is fully integrated for image-guided radiotherapy. Designed to deliver treatments with enhanced speed and accuracy, Varian can be used to treat cancer anywhere in the body where radiation treatment is indicated—including brain, lung, breast, prostate, uterus/cervix, and head and neck.

This innovative new technology allows our expert radiation oncologists to provide:

  • Radiation therapy that targets cancer within a millimeter of accuracy
  • On-board imaging, or image-guided radiation therapy
  • Extremely fast delivery of radiation; in some cases, treatments may only last 2 – 3 minutes versus times as long as 10 – 15 minutes previously
  • Stereotactic body radiation therapy to treat primary tumors throughout the body
