Mercy Fitzgerald ARU
The mission of the 10-bed acute rehabilitation program at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, located on the 7th floor, is to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation services of the highest quality in order to improve the functional independence of those we serve. The program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
We provide comprehensive services to patients with a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to:
- Stroke
- Hip fracture and other orthopedic conditions
- Lower extremity joint replacement
- Limb loss
- Neurologic disorders such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease
- Polyarthritis
- Congenital deformities
Patients with severe traumatic brain injury, traumatic spinal cord injury, burns, on ventilator support or under the age of 18 years old generally require a level of service that is not available at Mercy Fitzgerald. The average age of our patients is 67 years old.
