St. Mary Medical Center named Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery

Langhorne, Pa. – (January 16, 2025) – St. Mary Medical Center is pleased to announce that it has achieved accreditation from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery, while seven individual members of the St. Mary surgical team received Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery accreditation. These accreditations recognize St. Mary Medical Center and its surgical team for a commitment to the highest standard of care quality and patient safety.
Status as an accredited Center of Excellence means that St. Mary Medical Center has met nationally and internationally recognized standards of care in robotic surgery. Not all hospitals and surgeons seek this accreditation, and not all that undergo the rigorous inspection process are granted accreditation.
The seven St. Mary surgeons accredited as a Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery are:

Health care facilities and surgeons seeking an SRC accreditation undergo an extensive assessment and inspection process to ensure that the applicant meets SRC’s proven standards and requirements. These requirements include surgical volumes, facility equipment, clinical pathways and standardized operating procedures, an emphasis on patient education and continuous quality assessment. Inspectors educate staff in the accredited departments on best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.
