Patients now have access to the latest minimally invasive surgical technology for total hip or knee replacement
Philadelphia, Pa. — (November 10, 2021) — Nazareth Hospital now offers the ROSA® Knee and Hip joint replacement system, which brings together advanced robotic technology and industry-leading knee and hip implants. The system assists with complex decision-making and allows surgeons to use computer and software technology to control and move surgical instruments, allowing for greater precision and flexibility during joint-replacement procedures.
Most healthcare providers offer robotic-assisted procedures in general surgery and some subspecialties. Few perform minimally invasive joint-replacement surgery using a robotic system.
“We are proud to offer our patients the most advanced robotic-assisted surgical options available,” said Michael Magro, DO, MBA, president of Nazareth Hospital. “While the decision to have orthopedic surgery can be difficult to make, our patients can be assured that they will have the best outcomes and shortest recovery times possible thanks to this new technology.”
Using data collected before and during the procedure, Nazareth Hospital orthopedic surgeons ensure that each knee or hip implant is a personalized fit for the patient’s anatomy. Patients recover faster and with less pain and scarring, and generally have better surgical and post-operative outcomes.
Total joint replacement is one of the most commonly performed, elective surgical procedures in the United States. It is also becoming an increasingly popular outpatient procedure at surgery centers across the country. While each person’s personal recovery plan is unique, most Nazareth Hospital patients can expect to go home directly following their knee or hip replacement surgery.
