“Dre brings an exceptional background in health system operations and a successful track record in growth and quality. We are excited to welcome him to this new regional role leading two of our ministries located in the Mid-Atlantic states,” said Trinity Health Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ben Carter. “We will leverage the shared expertise and synergies within these markets to strengthen operations, access, clinical programs and service line growth.”

Boyd most recently served as chief operating officer at The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, a $1.3 billion healthcare system with two hospital campuses, 600 beds, six ambulatory outpatient centers and more than 100 ambulatory practices. Prior to that role he served as executive vice president and COO at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C., an affiliate of Novant Health. Earlier, Boyd was chief executive officer at Jackson North Medical Center in North Miami Beach, Fla., and served as a business administrator early in his career at Holy Cross Hospital.

“I am very honored to have been selected to lead two amazing ministries within Trinity Health. Trinity Health’s Mission, vision and core values truly resonate with me as a servant leader. In addition, I am very impressed by the amazing work that has been done in the Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic and Holy Cross Health ministries to provide high quality care for the communities they serve,” Boyd said. “I look forward to working with the Boards, leadership teams, physicians and team members to continue to enhance quality, patient safety and service for ALL patients within those communities.”

Boyd received his Bachelor of Science degree at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. He earned his Master of Healthcare Administration at Tulane School of Public Health in New Orleans, La.

“We are grateful to Jim for his leadership and commitment to Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic over the past eight years and wish him well as he begins his retirement after a long and successful career. We are also incredibly appreciative to Doug for his critical interim leadership at Holy Cross, Maryland over the past year,” said Carter.
