Dr. Reisner’s journey into breast surgical oncology was influenced by a personal experience. “I was first drawn to this field when my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I witnessed the compassionate care she received from her surgeon,” he explains. “During medical school, I had the privilege of doing research for that very surgeon.”
The continuous evolution and refining of breast cancer treatment—whether through surgery, radiation or medical management—continues to excite him about the future of this specialty.
Dr. Reisner’s approach to care emphasizes the strength of teamwork and support. “I often remind patients that they are not alone in their cancer diagnosis,” Dr. Reisner says. “They have a whole team behind them – one that has many years of experience with just this problem.”
