The news media must always be accompanied by a member of the Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic communications staff when on hospital property, including provider offices.

All patient condition requests must include the patient’s first and last name. To protect our patients’ privacy, we cannot provide updates without these details or if the patient has opted out of providing information.

If permitted, our media relations team can provide a one-word condition:

Undetermined: The patient has not yet been assessed, diagnosed or treated.

Good: Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. Patient is conscious and comfortable, with excellent indicators.

Fair: Vital signs are stable and normal, and the patient is conscious, but may be uncomfortable. Indicators are favorable.

Serious: The patient is very ill, and might have unstable vital signs outside the normal limits. Indicators are questionable.

Critical: Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.
