Podiatry Medicine and Surgery

Renata MilmanNazareth Hospital is proud to announce Philadelphia’s newest Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program, with added Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery credential. Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is located in Northeast Philadelphia, approximately 20 minutes north of Center City Philadelphia. The hospital services a diverse population of all ages guaranteeing exposure to many foot and ankle pathologies.

The foot and ankle surgical training program at Nazareth strives to be the best up and coming program in the Philadelphia area. Residents can expect to become excellent foot and ankle surgeons after graduation. An emphasis is placed on elective surgery, diabetic limb salvage, trauma and foot reconstruction. Following patients from pre-operative consultation to post-operative care provides residents with a full treatment experience. A mix of wound care, private office rotation, surgical center exposure and medicine rotations round out the educational curriculum.

The Nazareth Hospital Podiatric Residency program follows a team based approach in patient treatment. The faculty is dedicated to a 1:1 teaching experience. Residents are expected to be able to perform under supervised autonomy, with first-hand decision making applied to surgical procedure / technique, hardware used, and overall patient treatment (in an inpatient and outpatient setting).

Our goals for the residency program are to exceed CPME guidelines (and surgical numbers) by 100 percent. We are currently approved as a PMSR/RRA program for two resident positions per training year. We encourage a visit or externship to the program for residency consideration.

Sincerely,

Renata Milman, DPM
