St. Mary Medical Center CHNAs

The St. Mary Medical Center and St. Mary Rehabilitation Hospital Community Health Needs Assessment summarizes the results of the health status and health care needs of the community we serve. St. Mary partnered with Public Health Management Corporation, a private non-profit public health institute, to conduct our needs assessment. The purpose of this needs assessment was to identify and prioritize community health needs so that our hospital could develop strategies and plans that benefit the public.

The unmet health care needs for St. Mary service area were identified by comparing the health status, access to care, health behaviors, and utilization of services for our residents to results for the county and state and the Healthy People 2020 goals for the nation. Focus groups were also conducted to gather input from our Community Partners, including individuals with an expertise in public health, and special populations to further identify unmet needs, local problems with access to care, and populations with special health care needs.
