Mercy Fitzgerald earns accreditation for high-quality cardiac care
August 26, 2018Darby, Pa. (August 26, 2018): Mercy Fitzgerald recently earned a three-year accreditation from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) for its cardiovascular rehabilitation program. The accreditation recognizes industry-leading cardiovascular rehabilitation programs which maintain superior standards of care.
“We’re proud to receive this distinction as a leader in cardiovascular rehab, and we thank our colleagues for their skilled and dedicated service to our community,” said Martin O’Riordan, MD, Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at Mercy Fitzgerald. “We remain committed to improving the quality of life for our patients by holding ourselves to the highest standards of care.”
Mercy Fitzgerald’s cardiac rehabilitation program combines exercise, education, counseling and other support services to help patients with cardiovascular problems, such as heart attacks and coronary artery disease, recover faster and improve their quality of life.
AACVPR accredited organizations must complete a rigorous peer-reviewed evaluation and maintain the industry’s highest standards and guidelines for cardiovascular care. The AACVPR is also the only peer-review accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines.
