Dr. Edward O’Dell Named Vice President, Medical Affairs
Nazareth Hospital named Vice President, Medical Affairs Michael Magro, Jr., DO, MBA, FACOI, as its new President and Edward O’Dell, DO, as its new Vice President, Medical Affairs effective July 1, 2018.
In his new role, Dr. Magro will lead Nazareth in fulfilling its mission. He will be responsible for strategic alignment of growth strategies and operational goals and efforts to enhance patient experience, ensure colleague engagement and maintain safe, high-quality patient care. Dr. Magro succeeds Nancy Cherone, who is retiring after nearly 10 years of service with Nazareth Hospital and 45 years of healthcare service. With his clinical and operational expertise, he is well positioned to guide Nazareth to continue to provide transforming care to the Northeast Philadelphia community.

Dr. Edward O’Dell, Nazareth’s new Vice President of Medical Affairs, will work collaboratively with Dr. Magro to ensure clinical excellence and provide excellent patient care. Prior to joining Nazareth, Dr. O’Dell was a physician at Mercy Suburban Hospital for over 10 years. His commitment to Graduate Medical Education and his experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings will provide strong clinical leadership.
Dr. Magro received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mercy Suburban Hospital. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Eastern University. Dr. O’Dell is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. He also received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mercy Suburban Hospital.
