COVID-19 cases are at an all-time high, so it’s important to take precautions to keep you and your family safe. Here are three ways to try to stay healthy during this stressful time.
-
Wear a mask in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household.
Masks should completely cover your nose and mouth. They should also fit snugly against the side of your face without leaving any gaps. See this guide on mask wearing from the CDC.
-
Wash your hands frequently.
You should wash your hands before and after: - Touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
- Touching your mask.
- Entering and leaving a public place.
-
Touching an item or surface that may be frequently. touched by other people, such as door handles, tables, gas pumps, shopping carts or electronic screens.
-
Keep up with your self-care.
It’s a great time to start a self-care routine.
Some things that may help you to stay healthy and feel your best:
- Keep a consistent bedtime and get enough rest.
- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
- Stay hydrated. Your primary care doctor can talk to you about how much fluid you should be drinking based on your age and gender.
- Get 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity daily.
