Langhorne, Pa. — On Tuesday, St. Mary Medical Center celebrated its third annual “Ladies Night Out,” an event geared toward educating the community on breast health in honor of breast cancer awareness month.

During the event, physicians spoke about the latest innovations in breast cancer treatments and the wide variety of support programs and services available at the St. Mary Cancer Center. The event also included a marketplace of vendors, silent auctions, raffles and light refreshments.

Ladies Night Out was held in St. Mary’s nationally recognized Cancer Center, which has set itself apart as a community hospital-based cancer center through its advanced technology, board-certified physicians, and compassionate, highly skilled nurse navigators, nurses and support staff who provide comprehensive care. As a member of the Penn Cancer Network, St. Mary provides seamless access to advanced treatments and clinical trials.

“At a time when breast cancer awareness and concern are prevalent, Ladies Night Out provides a fun and interactive setting for community members to learn about breast health,” said Hiral P. Fontanilla, MD, medical director of the St. Mary Breast Program. “St. Mary is honored and delighted to host such enthusiastic individuals each year and to educate them on the resources available.”

This year, St. Mary raised more than $2,400 in proceeds from the event, all of which will benefit the breast health initiatives at the Cancer Center.

“Ladies Night Out helps bring awareness not only to breast cancer, but also the host of programs, services and treatments available to those who may need them. St. Mary is committed to the health of our community members and to providing the compassionate, skilled care they deserve,” added Russell M. Reisner, MD, FACS, breast surgeon and surgical oncologist at St. Mary.
